Hey there! 👋🏼

I'm Andrea! I'm a Software Engineer, working remotely from Genoa, Italy—a place with breathtaking coastlines and soul-crushing bureaucracy.

I've been in the IT trenches for 6 years now. Started as a Frontend Developer (yes, I fought the CSS battles), then got lured to the Backend dark side during my Master's in Computer Science, and now I'm flirting with DevOps and Platform Engineering. I'm basically having a professional identity crisis, but in a productive way.

I'm a generalist who gets unreasonably excited about system design and large-scale architectures. Seriously, I love understanding systems of any kind—software, economics, society, the human body, why I can't maintain a consistent sleep schedule... If it's a system, I want to know how it works and probably automate it.

Speaking of automation: I run a homelab because apparently my day job doesn't involve enough infrastructure. Also, I genuinely believe we need a more decentralized, privacy-respecting internet. Call me idealistic, but Big Tech's vision of the future is starting to look suspiciously like The Matrix, except with more ads and a subscription tier.

When I'm not staring at terminals or YAML files, you'll find me practicing Muay Thai as an amateur—because nothing balances out sitting in front of a computer like getting punched in the face. I also read a ton of books, especially technical ones, because I'm apparently incapable of turning my brain off.

Here are some badges that tell you more about me than any therapist ever could:

If I've saved you some debugging time or existential dread, consider buying me a coffee. My Italian standards are high, but I'll take what I can get:
